Vistron Gap Measuring Device is designed for upgrading flexo folder gluer in the field and performs a fully automatic check of the manufacturer’s joint of the corrugated boxes, at full production speed. The system consists of an industrial laser, a high-resolution industrial camera, a processor unit with software and furthermore a touchscreen monitor for image output and for the operation of the system. Using the Gap Measuring Device system, a 100 % check of the manufacturer’s joint is being performed at machine speed. The determined gap width of front and rear gap as well as the value for the “Fish-Tailing” are being presented on the monitor and in case of deviations outside of adjustable limits, a marking device is triggered, or even an automatic ejection of the faulty box takes place, depending on the technical capabilities of the converting machine.
