Non-contact checks, by means of industrial image processing systems, have a firm place in the electronics industry. For example, in the field of RFID applications.

Today, decreasing costs of RFID smart labels allow for a variety of applications, e.g. in the field of logistics and for theft protection of goods. In a pilot project, together with an internationally operating packaging manufacturer, a system was successfully implemented which measures the position of the RFID labels applied to the packaging by a label applicator and subsequently checks if the RFID chip is functional or not. This of course, during production and without limiting the speed of the speciality folder gluer and the OEM components.
